The little girl on the right has grown up and just secured a rare spot in one of #Nepal’s medical colleges! Ikshya is pictured with her mother and sister shortly after joining the @Hands in Outreacheducational program in 2010. Thirteen years later, after excelling on the competitive national medical entrance exam, she is going to medical school. Only one in twelve exam takers are accepted!  The excitement over Ikshya’s acceptance rippled from her close-knit family to the entire HIO community. HIO’s Bob and Nettie Isler Fund will pay Ikshya’s tuition and living expenses for the next 5+ years. Gendercide Awareness Project proudly supports HIO’s 35-year history of “Transforming Lives Through The Power of Education.”
