“We pledge to help each other so that everyone of us finishes.”

Our art exhibition in San Martin Texmelucan produced the most inspiring and unexpected result – 100 scholarships, complete with childcare during class time (second photo) – for 100 single mothers to finish their high school degrees!  The generous gift came from Maestra América Pérez Bonilla, Dean of the Universidad Centroamericana, @UNICA.  It was her personal response to our art exhibit. 100 carefully selected single mothers are now earning the credentials for better jobs.  Maestro Irving Abraham Salazar García, Coordinator for Graduate Studies at UNICA, directs the program.  

At their own initiative, the women pledged to support each other so that every mother gets her degree!  What sisterhood and solidarity among women!
