Pardada Pardadi Educational Society has been educating rural girls in India for 23 years but realized it needed to work alongside the girls’ mothers to empower them socially and economically– thus, the Community Development Division was founded. Since its inception it has formed community-led institutions.  Self Help Groups (SHGs), for example, resulted in entrepreneurs and micro-enterprises, such as the opening of The Kirana Shop by SHG women. The CDD has imparted best farming practices to local farmers, particularly for vegetable cultivation, provided health/hygiene training, facilitated lending between groups, and connected mothers to banking services. Gendercide Awareness Project is a proud educational sponsor of PPES– making girls and women the changemakers of tomorrow.
