Uma, educated by our partner Hands in Outreach, has an undergraduate veterinary degree but still wants an advanced degree in agricultural management. She has to earn a living, and times are tough in Nepal. Uma breaks up rocks to be mixed with cement for road construction. Uma, her mother, and little sister A Myaa can fill 6 bags in one day for 5 dollars. Uma only takes breaks to focus on upcoming exams, believing her education means a brighter future. Gendercide Awareness Project proudly sponsors mothers of scholarship girls to learn basic literacy and numeracy: helping alleviate conditions of profound poverty for inner city women and girls in Nepal.
