Cambodian Village Fund introduces Gendercide Awareness Project’s newest sponsored student, Somchhay. She is 20 years old and attends the National University of Battamberg where she majors in English Literature. “I want to be a language teacher and want to work on language translation as well.” It’s a daunting task for a woman living in Cambodia’s economy, but she’s a survivor. She moved from Thailand to Cambodia at age 11 after her mother died. She lives with her aunt while attending the university, as she is still needed to help at home. Gendercide Awareness Project is proud to partner with Cambodian Village Fund because, “Even one life changed for the better can create a ripple effect of enormous benefits.”
