Gendercide Awareness Project is proud to introduce its newest education partner, Daughters Rising – educating and empowering girls in Thailand to end sex trafficking.

Due to decades-long conflict in Myanmar, ethnic minorities such as Karen people have fled the violence to neighboring northern Thailand, settling into refugee or displacement camps. Sex traffickers pursue vulnerable girls in the camps and surrounding villages offering them the promise of high paying jobs in distant cities. Daughters Rising (DR) offers a safe home for these young girls where they are nurtured, gain English instruction, participate in sports, learn about indigenous culture, and receive transportation to school. DR also provides university scholarships for carefully selected indigenous girls. DR partially funds the safe home and scholarships through eco-tourism. Gendercide Awareness Project is eager to support this noble cause of empowering young women and girls for a brighter future.
