Reenuka begins classes in the Mothers’ Literacy Program at 6:15 a.m. before heading to a construction site in Nepal where she hauls heavy loads of sand and bricks all day. The program, offered by @Hands in Outreach, introduced her to English, improves her literacy in Nepali, and teaches basic numeracy. Married off at 15, she wants her children “to study a lot so that they pursue a better life.”
