Vaishali Dev is the visionary force behind the Blume Foundation, an organization that is a
pioneering force addressing some of the most urgent global issues—gendercide, reproductive
justice, leadership equity, mental health, and economic opportunity for women. Through
innovative programming, global partnerships, scholarships, and tailored support systems, the
foundation is reshaping futures one life at a time.
The Blume Foundation’s inaugural Gala 2025 – Petals of Hope, Voices of Change in Houston,
brought together a dynamic community of changemakers, philanthropists, artists, and advocates
dedicated to advancing the rights and well-being of women and girls globally. It was not only a
moving tribute to the resilience of women and girls, but a rallying call to confront gendercide: the
systematic elimination and devaluation of girls and women around the world and the loss of over
143 million females due to gender-based violence, neglect, and societal discrimination.
Under Vaishali’s leadership, the Blume Foundation was honored with a Certificate of Special
Congressional Recognition from Congressman Al Green; a Certificate of Recognition from
Texas Senator Molly Cook, District 15; a Proclamation from Harris County Commissioner
Lesley Briones; and a Proclamation from Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo—recognizing
the Blume Foundation’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that women have access to the
tools, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive at every stage of life. These honors also
acknowledged the Blume Foundation’s efforts to break down barriers and build a future where
girls are valued, empowered, and free from violence and discrimination.
Vaishali Dev is many things—entrepreneur, global fashion icon, humanitarian, and, perhaps
most impressively, someone who can run a board meeting, stage a fashion show, and still
remember where she left her coffee—even in heels.
Her journey began in health care, driven by a passion for healing and helping others. Since
then, she’s launched Viva Global Events and Yogi International Fashion—ventures that reflect
her bold creativity and global vision. When Vaishali dreams, she doesn’t think small—she thinks
runway in Paris, always committed to crafting unforgettable experiences that elevate every
moment.
She’s also the proud owner of Microteq, a mechanical manufacturing company now celebrating
its 18th year. That’s right—she’s smashing stereotypes in steel-toed heels.
Vaishali currently serves as the President of Ekal Vidyalaya and is the founder of the Blume
Foundation, a platform dedicated to empowering women and building community through
compassion and action. She has served as President and Board Member of IASA, is a former
board member of the CRY Foundation, and remains active as a member of IAPAC, the United
Nations Association, and Rotary District 5890—because, apparently,
“free time” is just a concept
for other people.
As a developer with The Gendercide Project, Vaishali fights for gender justice worldwide. She
also made a powerful statement with a $100,000 contribution to HAWC (Houston Area Women’sCenter), supporting survivors of domestic violence and fighting human trafficking—because she
believes safety isn’t a privilege, it’s a right.
In 2024, she was honored with the prestigious Presidential Award and has been featured in
USA Today, Cosmopolitan, Elle, and more. She also writes for the Forbes Council when she’s
not out making headlines—or reminding the world that style and substance are not mutually
exclusive.
And because Vaishali doesn’t believe in limits, she walked the runways of New York and Paris
Fashion Week at 57, where she was the showstopper—proving that fierce doesn’t fade, it just
adds pearls.
A proud mother, fearless leader, and walking inspiration, Vaishali leads with heart, hustle, and a
wink that says,
“Oh yes, I can do it all—and in heels, with eight broken discs.
”
After joining Gendap, she arranged for a Spring 2016 soft opening of the travelling art exhibit at her alma mater Austin College in Sherman, Texas in conjunction with the Posey Leadership Symposium with honorees Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. Kathleen continues to find a passionate outlet for her interest in human rights and social justice through her work with the Gendercide Awareness Project.
