At Ursuline Academy in Dallas, 800 students and 80 faculty gathered in the gym to watch a documentary based on the students' summer reading assignment, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. Afterward, women from three Dallas nonprofits showed video clips and answered questions about their work in support of women around the globe. In addition to our group, this included Chiapas International and The Red Umbrella. Many thanks to Renee Chevalier for the privilege of speaking to her compassionate, engaged, and informed students! Ursuline Academy is truly preparing them to be global citizens and advocates for women.
